Here are the rules:

Favorite Song (Tie) : Masterpiece / Beautiful Killer (each 18% of the votes)

 

Fans described the album as a mixed bag : you liked some of the songs but considered some others really bad. Most of you noted how Madonna seemed to be chasing what was trending at the time, and considered the album generic and messy, with horrible production and awful songwriting.

Some did say that they found the album underrated and that it featured some great highlights and a few good ideas nonetheless, but it didn’t stop the album to be ranked at #14.

Fans described Like a Virgin as being « cheesy Â», « garbage Â» and « trash Â». Most of you claimed that the album has a really dated sound (somehow more than her first album) and deemed the last part of the album as « total filler Â».

Still, you remarked that the album includes some of the the best pop songs ever (Like a Virgin and Into the Groove were cited a lot) and that it is a fun pop record despite its flaws.

Overall, the fanbase thinks that this album has notable qualities but also notable flaws and that it is not on her level.

The album was described as a generic, uninspired, badly written and overproduced record that chased trends that had already expired. (MDNA ?)

But you also considered it fun, playful, energetic, bright and liked the fact that it included some of her best dance floor ready tracks.

Rebel Heart was described as a solid effort by the Queen of Pop.

Fans deemed it as catchy and memorable, and considered it full of gems. You praised the overall themes and lyrics or the albums, and the fact that it was an improvement over Hard Candy and MDNA.

However, You complained about its cringe moments and production. A few also preferred some of the demo versions that leaked before the official release over the final versions.

The first album was described as pure 80’s classic.

Fans deemed it as a collection of pop songs crafted with love which stood the test of time and are just as enjoyable as they were in the 1980s. You liked the fact that you are never tired of this album, despite the number of times you listened to it.

Some said the opposite, considering some of the songs boring and repetitive. The lyrics were also described as « uninteresting Â».

True Blue was described as the first mature album made by Madonna.

Some of you compare it to movies : you deemed it cinematic and dramatic. You liked how it really shows growth and strength in Madonna.

There wasn’t any negative things given except the fact that while this album is good, it’s not the best Madonna album.

Fans said that they could connect to the songs in this album more than any other album. You described the songs as cohesive, some of them really shine in her discography. The lyrics and melodies were praised as some of Madonna’s best.

However, some considered the album too acoustic for a Madonna record and found some of the songs to be filler.

However the lyrics, considered too simple, and the excess of auto-tune were negative points that were cited a lot.
