Interesting article.  I suspect a lot of it is just "dish" though.  On set, most everyone including all the other actors claimed Madonna was hardly a diva and was always professional and respectful.

As for Debra Winger, she's always been known to be difficult to work with.  If it wasn't the casting of Madonna, it would have been something else that would have been a thorn at Penny's side.  While I believe Geena and Madonna weren't the best of pals, but both were professional and seem to respect one another and their contributions to the film.

Most of all, Madonna came away with a new life long friend, Rosie.  Seem like an unlikely pairing, but I'm sure many thought the same with Madonna and Sandra when they first teamed up.  The same goes with many of the boyfriends/husbands Madonna has had.
