Qweci wrote the song for Madonna while in the United States

American pop star, Madonna, is set to release a song written by Ghanaian R&B singer, Qweci, formerly known as Ded Buddy, who recently resurfaced after years of hibernation from the music industry. According to him, he co-wrote and arranged the song while in the United States, noting a friend of his who produced Maddonna’s last album was the one who created the beat for the song. “Back in the States, I co-wrote a song for American songstress Madonna which is not yet released… I wrote the song so it’s one of the songs which is actually being pushed to her right now to be released,†he told 3News He added:  “I co-produced, co-arranged and stuff for Madonna’s albumâ€. With over a decade of experience, Ded Buddy entered the industry in the 1990s with the track Y3b3 Sa, which became an instant hit in Ghana. He later went dormant for some time until 2010 when he bounced back but has still not been able take live up to expectation.

Madonna’s Emotional Trip to Africa Continues with Visit to Her Children’s Birth Villages

http://www.people.com/article/madonna-rocco-ritchie-david-mercy-lourdes-leon-africa?xid=rss-topheadlines

Madonna and family continued their tour of Africa this week, visiting the country of Malawi where the 57-year-old singer had previously adopted 10-year-old children David and Mercy. They returned to the orphanages where David and Mercy had lived – Home of Hope and Kondanani Children's Village, respectively. The family, which included Madonna's 19-year-old daughter Lourdes and 15-year-old son Rocco, mingled with the young children there and documented their trip on Instagram.

While on the trip, David also received his Ngoni tribal name in his ancestral village, she explained, posting a photo after the official ceremony.

"Discussing responsibility," she said in one photo after the ceremony, featuring David and Rocco. "One must live up to their name."

"There is joy in the air at Home of Hope Orphanage," Madonna wrote in another post, showing women in the village singing and dancing in the crowd.

The family visited a pediatric surgery and intensive care unit under construction in the Malawi city of Blantyre. There, Madonna reviewed plans with developers for the "first of it's kind" medical facility, located next to Queen Elizabeth hospital. She says she hopes the hospital will open by early 2017.

"These walls could use some murals," she wrote in one post as she toured the construction site.

She also met with Dr. Eric Borgstein – who she called one of her "heroes." The two discussed "food, security, education for girls and staffing," she said, with nurses and clinical officers.

Madonna asked her followers to help think of a name for the hospital, and provided information for those interested sponsoring a nurse or a clinical officer.

She then met with Malawi President Peter Mutharika. The two "discussed food security, education for girls and staffing" for the new hospital. "Oh Africa you have filled our hearts with joy and appreciation!" she wrote on her final post of the trip – which also saw the family traveling to Kibera, Kenya. Madonna and Rocco have recently mended their estranged relationship following months of acrimony and legal proceedings on both sides of the Atlantic. In June, the teen returned to his mother's Manhattan home for the first time since late 2015, when he opted to stay with dad Guy Ritchie in England.

Co-op slams Madonna for trying to skirt residence rules

Members of Madonna's ritzy Upper West Side co-op want a Manhattan judge to force the Material Girl to play by the rules.
The aging pop star sued the board of the Harperley Hall co-op at West 64th Street and Central Park West in April for trying to enforce a rule that requires her to be "in residence" at the $7.3 million pad when any members of her family or staff are staying there.

"Plaintiff is a world-renowned recording artist, performer and singer who is constantly on world tours," her Madgesty huffs in court papers.

"As such, plaintiff owns many residences around the world and travels extensively worldwide," her Manhattan civil suit says.

The toned-down version of Madges favorite catchphrase, "B---h, I'm Madonna," didn't go over well with the board.

Madonna cannot "credibly claim she was treated any differently from every other shareholder," the building's lawyer, Patrick Sweeney, says in court papers asking a judge to toss the suit.

Indeed, the building rules don't mean that her kids will have no place to go while their mom is out of town.

Her primary Manhattan residence is a $32.5 million, triple-wide town house on East 81st Street.

Madonna, 57, bought the seventh-floor unit thats the subject of the suit in 2008. She lived at the co-op when she was married to Sean Penn.

The "Like a Virgin" singer has four children -- teenagers Rocco and Lourdes and adopted 10-year-olds David Banda and Mercy James.

Sweeney also says that Madonna waited too long to sue -- two years after the building-wide rule was enacted.

Madonna says she wasn't aware of the new rule until November 2015. But that date "is still more than four months before she commenced this action," Sweeney says about the filing deadline.

An attorney for Madonna did not return a message seeking comment.

Major @Madonna film retrospective at @MetrographNYC! http://

http://www.boyculture.com/boy_culture/2016/07/you-cant-chelsea-handler-the-truth.html

Chelsea Handler—not really someone who leaps out at me as a major Madonna fan—will be moderating a Q&A with Truth or Dare director Alek Keshishian on August 26 at Metrograph, my new favorite moviehouse in NYC.

Following that kick-off, the film will have a one-week run at the theater, during which time several other of Madonna's classic and not-so-classic films will be screened, including Body of Evidence, Dick Tracy, Shadows and Fog, Who's That Girl, Desperately Seeking Susan, A League of Their Own and Dangerous Game.
