YOU'RE FIRED!!

 

Okay, so here's the deal. Madonna hires you to organize a TWENTY song compiliation from her complete catalog as of this date. They must have been released officially. Other than that prerequisite, it's totally up to you which twenty songs you want to include and how you organize it. They can be hits, album cuts, soundtrack songs, non hits. All your choice. Now remember, she's the boss. She ONLY wants twenty officially released songs. Adding bonus songs, new songs or alternative choices will only get you fired. TWENTY is the assignment. Can you do it?

 

Once you compile and organize your list of songs, Madonna wants you to tell her why you chose the songs you did. For instance, you may have chose to organize a collection of songs that best represent her as an artist. Or maybe you just wanted to organize your favorite ballads? Or maybe you wanted to put together a collection of some of her best unknown album songs. Whatever it is, mention it among your twenty.  Good luck. Can you do it or are you fired?

This is supposed to have somewhat of an emotional arc, it contains some of my favorite songs that have a 'powerful' connotation for me personally:

 

1. Impressive Instant

You go out, step into a club and -BAM!- are hit by this impressive instate moment of attraction, bliss, passion, lust for life, lust for love; "violently happy".

 

2. Get Together

You wish you could "get together" with the special someone you have just laid eyes on.

 

3. Skin

You want to him/her to put his/her hand on your skiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii---iiiiiiiin.

 

4. Burning Up

Then you're burning up for their love. You're not the same. You have no shame.

 

5. Girl Gone Wild

So you turn into a girl gone wild (no matter what your real gender is).

 

6. Push

And you push against him/her. Ahem.

 

7. Revolver

Why? Because your love's a revolver and your sex is a killer!

 

8. Sky Fits Heaven

You feel you're in heaven/the sky, so you fly it.

 

9. White Heat

It's all so sizzling hot it turns into white heat.

 

10. Frozen (Stereo MC's Mix)

White heat (the hottest) can be destructive - so something happens that makes you question this "love." And you freeze.He/she did something to you or the other way around. All a matter a perspective in love affairs, ain't it?

 

11. Sorry

You are hurt and don't want no more sorries, slihas and przebrazam (or however you spell that).

 

12. Gang Bang

Things get complicated and even more negative. You are so angry you want to shoot him/her.

 

13. Let It Will Be (Paper Faces Mix)

You reach a point of no return. So you watch it burn and just let it (will) be; in other words: que sera, sera.

 

14. Die Another Day

You figure that you cannot allow this to kill you, or your spirit. So you see that it is all ego and want to kill that instead.

 

15. Isaac

With all the negative and angry feelings, you wonder if you will ever get to heaven when you stand at the gates.You are somewhat cleansing yourself, with spirituality as you're wrestling with your darkness. Knowing you, you will win this fight.

 

16. Keep it together

You tell yourself to pull together and keep it together and you remember that family can help.

 

17. Nobody Knows Me

You figure that  you couldn't really kill your ego and that in truth, nobody out there really knows you that well; how can they speak of your demise, your downfall - when you have so much more in store that you are going to prove to have. By improving your own life.

 

18. Express yourself

So you start to feel free again and spress yourself, y'know what i'm f***in sayin'

 

19. Cyberraga

You're in a state of bliss and party like folks in a  bollywood movie. All is full of color and spiritual wisdom at the same time.

 

20. Music

So you turn back to what really brings people together. Music. And go back to the place that started the whole journey: the club. To dance with your baby.
