Guys, what do you think was the concept used by Madonna in introducing "Erotica" in "The Girlie Show" with those boxers in the background? And why do you think the edition hardly shows these scenes?I do not see any relation to the theme "circus", "arena" of the concert ..... do not understand the message she wanted to pass.

yes to all of the above, but also fighting sports are a good metaphor for bdsm, where you can be brutal and hurt each other but in a safe enviroment where there's rules etc. I was always mesmerised by the boxers but maybe just because at the time I crushed on Luca ;-)

Girlie Show Sunday! The boxing segment in EROTICA was something based on a painting in Madonna’s NYC apt. The opening piece in TGS was showing different things that were ‘erotic’ to M and Christopher. Boxing is erotic. Madonna sent Luca and I to boxing school to look legit. Check out my face! Madonna loves the boxing. She loved it then and she loves it now (u seen her Detroit visit during the Rebel Heart Tour, not to mention another recent visit this year, where she was wearing that Michael Jackson-esque leather jacket...) - also Mike Tyson...she's always admired him ("Have you seen his biceps?"- she asked, during her youtube fans interview)

 

I think she enjoys the concept of the fight. The challenge that comes from it. I bet she finds it entertaining. Oh, and also sexy.

 

I don't agree much with the sexy but hey!
