Unpopular Madonna Opinions

RULES OF THE THREAD!

1. EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion.

2. Don't spend a page discussing why "this opinion is wrong"

3. Don't troll tbh

Now, for mine:

I expected a better and more glamorous video for Hung Up. The scenes that don't take place in the club are kind of underwhelming. The second chorus into the club and the part where she dance on the radio are the only scenes that really match the "huge" nature of the song... Dancing in an arcade? A restaurant? A DANCE STUDIO????? Kinda underwhelming for such a godly track.

My "Unpopular Opinion": I don't spend time thinking about things I don't like about Madonna.  I enjoy too much from her to sweat about the things I have no control over.

The general purpose of a forum is to discuss difference of opinions, so to instruct people to not spend time debating one's opinion whether it's wrong or right, is silly.  If you say Madonna sucks!  That might be your opinion, but you can bet most people at a Madonna fan forum will argue that you are wrong!!  In other words, you're basically wanting people to simply accept your opinion, but not willing to listen to what other people feel on the same subject.  I think what you should have said, "Don't mistake people who argue your point as telling you that you can't speak your opinion."  This is what I see happens a lot.  People get mad because they don't like others who debate their opinion, so they spin it as if they are trying to tell them to NOT share their opinion when in most cases, that never was said.  That said; you'll have to expect a bit of biting back when you come in and criticize Madonna, especially if that's all that you do at a fan forum dedicated to her.  I would think most of us are here because we are FANS of hers.  Yes, we can be critical of her. We don't have to like everything she does, but again, there are those who come into forums and groups who simply criticize her if not constantly complain. Again, I'm not saying you can't share your opinions even if it's not favorable, but don't expect people are just going to sit here and take constant criticism and negativity aimed at Madonna from the same people over and over.  Remember, we're here first to appreciate Madonna, not just criticize her all the time.

It's supposed to be a fun thread and it's ok to set rules for an individual thread as a game. There's really no need for this omg

Sweetie this isn't meant to trash on her. As you can see by the above comments, most are critiques not drags. But... Express Yourself I guess.

I misread the intention of the thread.  My apologies and why I changed my reply.  But I stick by my amended response... I tend to have the unpopular opinion of not spending time on the things I don't like of her.

Another "unpopular opinion";  The exclusion of LDLHA and other edits don't ruin the Rebel Heart Tour for me.  Nor do I have an issue with the edits.

GUYS... am I the only one that finds Act of Contrition fucking weird? I mean I've read a post on here some time ago that explains it but... Jesus Christ how do you create something like that? Was she high? HOWEVER. The way she used it on the BAT before Like A Prayer... was incredible. Bahahaha god I'm strange.

I always despised the random really short guitar intro on like a prayer it's so abrupt and never visited again... Til the last track??? Wtf?

It's why I prefer TIC of LAP

I am actually happy for her to continue doing things that fulfill her artistic wishes, for example directing a new movie. Guys she always hinted this in the 90s as she was constantly asked "when she was going to direct a music video", she wasn't sure when it would begin. Instead, she's given us like 20 different musical eras and 10 world tours to enjoy her legacy and rediscover new aspects of her work. I know, we would all love a new studio album, a new look, and of course a new tour... but I think she's earned the right to explore other means of artistic expressions whether they fail or not. Who cares? It's not us who are wasting money.

Other than that, whenever she's "silent" I actually get to live my own life knowing she'll be back someday.

Another "unpopular opinion", I don't mind her doing side projects, such as skin lines, clothing, books and movies.  She never made a secret about wanting to broaden how she expressed herself.  She, like the rest of us, has other interests that we like to do, even though we might not be very good at it or make money from it.  She certainly knows her bread and butter comes from the music.  Everything else is just another way for her to channel who she is to the world.  I have no interests in much of her side projects, but I don't feel it's my place to tell her to stop doing movies or writing books, etc.  It's her life.  She's done so much with her music.  I feel that her other endeavors are just other layers of whom she is.  To me, if she really wanted to "sell out", she could have done a lot of this much earlier in her career when she was in her prime.  There is no doubt in my mind her make up line, clothing line and probably some of the movies she wanted to direct could have been more successful when she was younger. Like mentioned, she knows where her bread is buttered. She isn't going to leave the music behind. But I don't expect her to pump out record after record like some do as they get older.
