  1. I already feel all of that with M. I don't need any kind of drug to alter my reality or my senses. I like to be too much in control of myself and my acts to do drugs, but to each their own i guess :-)

  2. I have no faith in the charts anymore especially as a great song like Ghosttown flops everywhere and should have been a number 1 - every song in the charts now is someone featuring someone ### so boring the charts now :((( as long as the music/videos are good it doesnt matter - she will never sell like Adele or Taylor Swift(Both overrated) imo

  4. I was high as fuck during the MDNA Tour show that I saw and all I could do was say WOOOW and interrupt her speech during Like a Virgin to ask her to adopt me

  5. I've never done LSD, but listening to music on ecstasy is very fun. People judge drugs too much. As long as you're not overdoing it and are doing it in a safe environment with trustworthy people, then it's okay.

  6. Right!! Isaac is imo the most meaningful track on the album. All of her albums are deep and meaningful

  7. all this COADF slander. why do people think the album is just a dance album when most of the tracks have deep and meaningful lyrics? it partially was a dance colorful AL. Thats what I love about it, she made it look commercial without sacrificing depth.

  8. Remember when Madonna deliberately ignored her classics during the DWT? She received criticism from both the media and fans, some even believed it was 'her last BIG tour because of her age' lmao Then a flop movie came and later American Life was released and did nothing but hurt (radio boycott, leaks, her website was hacked, video self-banning, plagiarism lawsuits, etc.) especially after the tremendous success of the Music era (Grammy and MTVs noms). Many of us didn't love American Life at the beginning but it certainly proved to be a grower. It does contain lovely and mature stuff, should have done better in the charts. Weren't the MTV kiss and the guest stars part of Madonna's agenda to remain relevant? Britney was rocking the world with Toxic and Christina still enjoyed some success from her Stripped era. It made sense to me at the time... The 2004 Re-invention Tour was a lifeboat commercially speaking but it only visited the same old places (except for Ireland) and the Confessions era was a major sucess mainly because of the ABBA sample and her gorgeous 70's look that are still remembered. Despite being totally gorgeous the following singles Get Together and Jump flopped. Madonna ignored her American Like stuff until she started to consider some songs as interludes in both the Sticky & Sweet and MDNA tours. Suspicious? Maybe she felt the world needed to forget her political flop for some time, I don't know. What I appreciate is that she dared to play album tracks during the Tears of a Clown gigs. That was awesome and led me to believe it was the music she wanted to make at the time. Actually, I think American Life was the last time she really put her heart into the writing compared to Confessions which sounded totally muffled and redundant. Rolling Stone would say the former was made for our heads and the latter for our feet. I don't think there's anything else to explain. Everyone knows what happened after Hard Candy and her departure from Warner.

  11. Completely agree Ghosttown one of the best tracks for many years with a great video got completely ignored whilst everyone got excited about BIM, I don't get it.

  12. LSD & ecstasy aren't really drugs people get addicted to. Not saying it doesn't happen, just not very probable. Opioids? Crystal Meth? Cocaine? Cigarretes? Very addictive. Stay away.

  13. You also have to know wether you're likely to get addicted. Sadly I probably fall in that category so I never touched an illegal drug.

  16. I love the title track too! It’s brilliant and the ending leading into Hollywood is unique in its own way

  17. Agreed! Apart from the title track (which I love, but can see how people would cringe) it's a stellar album!

  18. I thought Hollywood would have been a great title or maybe Nobody Knows Me. But in the end it was American Life, and its been nice to see some younger fans embrace that as their favorite Madonna album.

  19. There's nothing juvenile about disliking people that you perceive to have bad personality traits and someone you think has done very morally questionable stuff and chose to hang around morally questionable people. I don't really care if she at one time was Madonna's pop rival or whatever other dumb little fan war. I agree that THAT'S juvenile, as is calling Gaga reductive since that's not what Madonna said either. We'll be better off moving on and honestly I don't have any problem with Gaga stans nor do I want to.

  20. Literally. No female artist will be able to defeat that opening

  21. Marilyn became an icon from having a rougher childhood than Madonna, so I don't see how she wasn't resilient. And Madonna had every right to say it felt reductive. G*** didn't have to call the comparisons r*tarded if she was paying "homage" or invent a story about fake emails. Sorry for contributing to the Off Topic.
